Details
Theophrastus’ Garden was a private commission completed in 2010. The clients had a large piece of copper they wanted to have made into an art work. Discussions occurred about subject matter and the scope of the project before working drawings were approved. The imagery is derived from the extensive gardens surrounding their home, emphasizing a variety of textures and forms from the natural world via embossed and pierced interventions to the copper sheeting. The relief is installed in a niche and lit evenly from behind by a wall-mounted tubular light fixture and diffuser screen.
